Sirloin Sliders with Kapiti Kikorangi


700g onion (thinly sliced)

2 Tbl balsamic vinegar

1/4 cup brown sugar

Salt & pepper


Canola Oil

2 x sirloin steaks

Salt & pepper


Slider buns




These sirloin sliders will go down a treat with steak fans thanks to Al Brown.


Caramelised Onion

Place onion in large saucepan over a medium low heat and cook for 30 mins.  Add balsamic vinegar and brown sugar and cook for another 5 min to caramelise.  Season with salt and pepper then remove from heat and keep warm.


Pre-heat a grill pan or skillet till hot.  Oil your steaks and season well.  Cook for 5 - 7 min each side (for medium) then remove from the heat to rest.


Split your slider buns in half, then butter.  Toast in a skillet on a medium heat until golden brown. Load your slider buns with caramelised onion, sliced sirloin and crumbled Kikorangi and rocket. Place on the top bun - eat now.
